The new year is just two days away. How crazy is that? 2020 is almost here. A whole new year that we are blessed to live out. A lot of people see the new year as a chance to start fresh and wipe the slate clean. But then a couple months in they go back to their old ways. They quit and never reach their goals or plans they had for the year.
I have been one of those people in the past. But I am determined that this year will be different. How can I be so sure you ask? Great question! This year I am not going to make a specific goal or challenge. This year I am just going to continue on focusing on what the word of God says about me. I have studying and finding verses on this all month.
I believe that continuing this my health, my self confidence and self image will only get better. I remember almost 10 years ago I was living with a group of girls. We all shared a not only a house but one ROOM. Yes you read that right we there was I believe about 12 of use sharing a room. And one bathroom as well. Anyways, I made some great friends during this time. We became very close, like sisters. None of us liked when we said negative things about ourselves. So one of my friends decided to smack us every time she heard us saying anything negative about ourselves.
I know this sounds crazy and you're thinking wow that's mean. But, it honestly was all in fun and love. She would never hurt us...lol. But it actually had us aware of our negative words about ourselves. We started being more careful about what we said about ourselves. Which was amazing because we are all children of God and all beautiful in our own way.
All that said I just want to encourage you to starting now read what the word of God says about you. Trust what the God says about you and who you are in Him. Because through Him you are Holy and without blame. (Ephesians 1:4) You have the mind of Christ. (1 Corinthians 2:16) You are a new creation in Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:17) You are complete in Him who is the head over all ruler and authority of every angelic and earthly power. (Colossians 2:10) You are fearfully and wonderfully made. (Psalm 139:14)
So this new year whatever your goals and plans I encourage you look to God first. Let his truth of who you are sink down deep into your heart and soul. He has amazing plans for your life (Jeremiah 29:11). I pray this year is your best year yet!
My Prayer For You:
Lord I just pray for everyone who read this post. Lord touch their hearts and let them feel your love. Father God I just pray that your truth is revealed to them this coming year and that they know how valuable they are. I pray for those who may not know you to believe your truth. Because your truth will set them free. Those who believe in you are set free from the law of sin and death. (Isaiah 54:14) We are called out of the darkness of sin and into the light and life of Christ so we can proclaim the excellence and greatness of who you are Lord. (1 Peter 2:9) Thank you again for all you do for us and in Jesus name I pray Amen.
