My letter to Single Parents

There are so many single parents out there and some people may not approve of that. But from what I've seen single parents are some of the most loving, motivated and hard working people I know. Most of them didn't go into this thing called parenthood alone by choice. So some people need to take a step back and see these amazing parents for who they really are.

Now I am NOT by any means saying I know or understand how any single parent may feel. Because I don't and hope to never have to. But I am saying that you all deserve more encouragement and understanding from people then you sometimes get. So that is why I am writing this!

Dear Single Parent,

You are doing a beautiful job. You have taken on both roles of being mommy and daddy. You are your child's everything and they look up to you. You are super mom/dad because you are either working long hours, more then one job, going to school (or all of the above) just to make a brighter future for your children. Just know one day they will appreciate all you are doing for them. Don't give up because you CAN do this and your doing awesome.

Not only do you do all of those things but you make time to do special little things for your children. You are the one who wakes them up in morning, who goes on little adventures during the day, who  handle their tantrums, who feed them, who bathes them and tuck them in at night. What you do as single parent EVERYDAY, I can barely handle by myself for one day.

So don't you ever let someone tell you that you aren't doing a great job. Because if they are not a single parent they will never know where you're at and how much strength you portray everyday doing both roles as mommy and daddy. Like I said I do not and will not pretend to know what it's like to be a single parent. But I do see my friends and family members who are single parents and they are some of the STRONGEST people I know.

So I hope this letter is encouraging and uplifting. Because not everybody can do what you do.

God Bless,
Casey
